From online shop to retail
From the desk of: Tim Schmidt
Founder & CEO, Chemnitz
In 2018 I founded DOTCOMCANVAS® in Chemnitz as an online shop. Today our artworks hang in the homes of more than 60,000 customers.
The next step was brick-and-mortar retail: with XXXLutz, BAUHAUS and Möbel Inhofer we are now in major furniture stores, and in 2023 we opened our own showroom in Dubai.

Where can I see DOTCOMCANVAS artworks in person?
At our retail partners XXXLutz, BAUHAUS and Möbel Inhofer as well as in our own showroom in Dubai. The store finder above shows all stores we have supplied in the last six months. Selection may vary by store; you'll find the complete range online.
Can I visit the showroom in Dubai?
Yes, by appointment. Select "Visit the Dubai showroom" in the form and we'll get back to you with an appointment.
How does the commission model work?
We provide you with a selection of our artworks. You only settle up once a piece is sold, and you receive your commission. That way you start without any stock investment.
How is that different from direct purchase?
With direct purchase you buy the artworks at dealer prices and sell them at your own price. That means more margin per piece, but also your own stock investment.
Do I need my own retail space?
For commission and direct purchase, yes: a suitable wall or sales area is the basis. For your own showroom or a franchise we're also happy to talk if you're still looking for a space.
Is there territorial protection?
We discuss this individually in the first call, depending on the model, location and scope of the partnership.
Are the motifs licensed?
Yes. All motifs come from real artists, are officially licensed, and every artist shares in the sale. Every piece comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Do you also work with partners abroad?
Yes. Our showroom in Dubai is the best example. We deliver worldwide and welcome inquiries from every country.
